Can I unlock a PDF if I forgot the password?
No. This tool removes a password that you know. It cannot find, guess or crack a password.
Which PDFs may I unlock?
Only files that you own or that you have permission to open and change. Removing the protection of somebody else’s document without permission may be against the law.
What is the difference between a password and restrictions?
A password is needed to open the file at all. Restrictions, such as no printing or no copying, apply to a file that anyone can open. This tool removes both.
Is my password sent anywhere?
No. The password is only used inside your browser to open the file. Nothing is uploaded.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The work happens inside your browser on your own device, so private documents stay private. You can check this in your browser’s network panel.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no fixed limit. Very large files need a lot of memory, so on an older phone a smaller file works best.
