Frequently asked questions
Which resolution should I choose?
Screen (72 DPI) makes small images for e-mail and the web. Standard (150 DPI) is a good balance for reading on a screen. Print (300 DPI) is the sharpest and makes the largest files.
Should I choose JPG or PNG?
JPG makes smaller files and suits pages with photos. PNG is lossless, so text and drawings stay perfectly sharp, but the files are bigger. Both are made from the page as it looks on paper, with a white background.
Can I convert only some of the pages?
Yes. Choose "Page range" and type the pages, for example 1-3, 5, or choose "Pick pages" and click the pages you want.
Does this extract the pictures inside my PDF?
No. Each page becomes one image of the whole page, text and pictures together. Very large pages, such as posters, are scaled down when the chosen resolution would need more memory than a browser can offer.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The work happens inside your browser on your own device, so private documents stay private. You can check this in your browser’s network panel.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no fixed limit. Very large files need a lot of memory, so on an older phone a smaller file works best.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It runs in current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari.
