Tips for a natural result
- Start with the Standard preset and change one slider at a time.
- Keep the tilt below 2° for a natural look; real sheets are rarely far off.
- 150 DPI is plenty for e-mail. Use 200–300 DPI if the file will be printed.
- Grayscale and black & white produce smaller files than color.
Frequently asked questions
Are my files really private?
Yes. The conversion runs entirely in your browser. Your document is not uploaded to any server, and you can check this in your browser’s network panel or by going offline after the page has loaded.
Which file types can I use?
PDF, Word (.docx) and images such as JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF, BMP and AVIF. Old .doc files need to be saved as .docx or PDF first. You can select several images at once to combine them into one PDF.
Is the result a real scan?
It is a realistic imitation: an image-based PDF with the imperfections of a scan. It contains no scanner metadata, and it is not an original document. Do not present it as one.
Can I still edit or copy the text?
No. Every page becomes an image, which is what makes the file “flat”. If you need searchable text afterwards, run OCR on the result.
How large will the PDF be?
It depends on the number of pages, the resolution and the JPEG quality. A grayscale A4 page at 150 DPI is typically 150–400 KB.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, on current mobile browsers. Very long documents at 300 DPI need a lot of memory, so use a lower resolution on older devices.
Is it free?
Yes. There are no limits, no sign-up and no watermarks added by us.
