Frequently asked questions
Can I select or copy the text in the PDF?
No. Your browser draws each page of the document as a picture, and the PDF is made of these pictures. The text looks sharp, but it cannot be selected, searched or read aloud. If you need a PDF with real text, use "Save as PDF" in Word.
Why does the PDF look a little different from Word?
The pages are laid out by your browser, not by Word. Fonts that are not installed on your device are replaced by similar ones, and line and page breaks can move slightly. Look at the result before you send it on.
Can I convert an old .doc file?
No, only .docx files work. Open the old file in Word, choose "Save as", pick the Word Document (.docx) format and try again.
Which quality should I choose?
Standard (150 DPI) suits most documents on screen and on paper. Choose High (200 DPI) for very small text or detailed pictures, or Draft (100 DPI) for the smallest file.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The work happens inside your browser on your own device, so private documents stay private. You can check this in your browser’s network panel.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no fixed limit. Very large files need a lot of memory, so on an older phone a smaller file works best.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It runs in current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari.
