Frequently asked questions
Is the cropped-away content deleted?
No. Cropping hides everything outside the frame: the page is shown and printed without it, but the text and images are still in the file and a PDF editor can bring them back. To remove content for good, use Redact PDF.
Can I crop all pages in the same way?
Yes. Choose all pages or a range of pages. The margins you set are applied to each of them, measured from the edges of the page as you see it. Pages of different sizes keep the same margins, so their cropped sizes differ.
Does it work with rotated pages?
Yes. The frame and the margins refer to the page as it is displayed, so “top” is the top of what you see, even when the page is stored rotated.
Which units can I use?
Millimeters, inches or points. Points are the unit PDF files use: 72 points make one inch.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The work happens inside your browser on your own device, so private documents stay private. You can check this in your browser’s network panel.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no fixed limit. Very large files need a lot of memory, so on an older phone a smaller file works best.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It runs in current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari.
