Frequently asked questions
Is this AI upscaling?
No. The tool enlarges with a classic method called Lanczos resampling and can sharpen the result. That gives clean, smooth edges, but it cannot invent detail that is not in the original the way AI upscalers try to.
Why is the enlarged picture still a little soft?
An enlargement can only spread the existing pixels over a larger area. Sharpening brings back some of the crispness of edges. If it looks harsh or shows halos, lower the sharpening.
How large can the result be?
Up to 64 megapixels for each picture. A 4x enlargement of a 4-megapixel photo is 64 megapixels. Very large results need a lot of memory, so on a phone use smaller pictures.
What happens to SVG files?
An SVG is a vector drawing, so it is simply drawn again at the larger size and stays perfectly sharp. No resampling is needed.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The work happens inside your browser on your own device, so private documents stay private. You can check this in your browser’s network panel.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no fixed limit. Very large files need a lot of memory, so on an older phone a smaller file works best.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It runs in current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari.
