Frequently asked questions
Is this a legally binding digital signature?
It places a picture of your handwritten signature on the page, like signing a printout and scanning it. It is not a certificate-based digital signature, so it does not prove who signed or whether the file was changed afterwards. Whether a picture of a signature is enough depends on the document and the country: if you are unsure, ask whoever asked you to sign.
Is my signature stored or uploaded anywhere?
No. It is made in your browser and kept in memory only while this page is open. It is not uploaded and not saved on your device, so it is gone when you close the page.
How do I sign on every page or add my initials?
Choose “New initials”, make them the same way as a signature and click on a page to place them. Click the saved initials again to place them on the next page, or use Duplicate in the settings of a placed item.
Which date is used for the date stamp?
Today’s date from your device, written in the style of the language of this page. You can choose another style before you place it, and you can edit the text afterwards like any other text.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The work happens inside your browser on your own device, so private documents stay private. You can check this in your browser’s network panel.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no fixed limit. Very large files need a lot of memory, so on an older phone a smaller file works best.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It runs in current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari.
