Frequently asked questions
Is my original file changed?
No. Your original stays as it is. The edited picture is saved as a new file with “-edited” added to its name.
Which formats can I save?
PNG keeps every pixel and transparency, JPG makes a smaller file, and WebP is small and keeps transparency where your browser supports it. Text, stickers and drawings are part of the saved picture.
Does it work with big photos?
Yes. While you edit, the preview uses a smaller copy so that the sliders stay fast. The file you save is made from the full-size picture. Pictures with more than about 36 megapixels (16 on an iPhone or iPad) are scaled down when saved, because browsers cannot make bigger images.
What are the stickers?
They are emoji, drawn by the emoji font of your device, so nothing is downloaded. They look a little different on Windows, Apple and Android devices.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The work happens inside your browser on your own device, so private documents stay private. You can check this in your browser’s network panel.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no fixed limit. Very large files need a lot of memory, so on an older phone a smaller file works best.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It runs in current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari.
