Frequently asked questions
Is the quality kept?
PNG pictures are rotated without any loss. JPG and WebP pictures are saved again at 92% quality, which looks the same to the eye but is not a bit-for-bit copy.
Which file format do I get?
Every picture keeps its format: JPG stays JPG, PNG stays PNG and WebP stays WebP where your browser can write it. GIF, BMP, AVIF and SVG files are saved as PNG, and an animated GIF keeps only its first frame.
What happens to pictures I did not change?
They are returned exactly as they were, so the result always contains every picture you added.
My phone photo looks sideways. Will this fix it?
Photos are shown upright according to the orientation stored in the file, and that is what you get. If a photo still looks wrong on the card, rotate it until it looks right.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The work happens inside your browser on your own device, so private documents stay private. You can check this in your browser’s network panel.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no fixed limit. Very large files need a lot of memory, so on an older phone a smaller file works best.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It runs in current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari.
